19 August – Half Moon Bay Pelagic

Posted on

Another great day on the water! Our Half Moon Bay pelagic with Alvaro Jaramillo yielded an incredible number of birds. I was hoping to get an Ashy Storm-Petrel and a Buller’s Shearwater. Instead we saw hundreds of each!! We also saw 2 Brown Boobies, several Scripp’s Murrelets, tons of Black-footed Albatrosses and a surprising number of Wilson’s Storm-Petrels!!

I added 3 birds today to bring my total to 723!! I’m now at the airport headed to San Diego for yet another pelagic in the morning.😅🏃‍♀
