Day 13 – Anza Borrego Desert SP, CA
California comes to a close and I leave this state with 277 species for the year. The birds have been fabulous and varied. The rain has been a constant. However, the beauty of the different habitats we visited will stay etched in my mind for a long time to come.
I hope you enjoy these photos of the stunning desert landscape as much as I do.
Today I added Costa’s Hummingbird, Lawrence’s Goldfinch, Clark’s Grebe, Mountain Bluebird, California Quail, Nuttall’s Woodpecker and Black-throated Sparrow.
The biggest surprise on this trip was seeing 11 species of Gulls including the Black-headed Gull. Lifer for all!!!
Tomorrow I leave my friends and our guide to continue my chase in Tucson!
