Day 18 – Manassas, VA

I actually slept til 8 a.m. this morning and it was such a guilty pleasure. I can’t remember the last day that I had more than 5 hours of sleep.

I arrived in VA yesterday just in time. I’m sick as a dog (can’t imagine why). I guess birding in the rain and cold wind for 12 hours per day is not recommended.

So I’m crawling out of my skin already. I can’t go birding so I have to satisfy myself watching my sister’s 15 feeders. Yes, my whole family has the birding disease!! I’m the only one who has a terminal case though.😬

I have really enjoyed watching her LBJs (little brown jobs, for the uninitiated). This is a good time to work on I.D. and to notice fine detail in common birds.

Look at this beautiful White-throated Sparrow!! Love the yellow lore and back pattern.
