Day 237 – …and I hope you like chummin’ too…

Posted on

Today’s trip was with Shearwater Journeys once again. This time the seas in Monterey were angry. Many of us felt queasy. I had little hope of getting any birds since this was my 4th pelagic this week. Others were not optimistic about my chances either.

Several people asked me why I didn’t take the day off. I said I wanted to go to Pteredroma-land with a laugh. Well, Alex Rinkert made my dream come true by spotting a very rare Hawaiian Petrel–number 729!!!

Today was the first day that Debi was allowed to chum again in the Monterey Bay Estuary and what a day it turned out to be!! Thanks again to Debi and all the spotters on our trip today.
